I recently had the opportunity to review the Houndstooth Umbrella, part of the English Roses line, and the book that inspired this theme, The English Roses by Madonna.

The English Roses, the much talked about children’s book by Madonna, is a wholesome tale about how to make friends and deal with new social situations. Read it together with your special little girl to add extra meaning to these unique coats, boots and umbrellas.

Both of these are perfect for my 11 year old niece! The umbrella is sturdily constructed, and beautiful. It's a nice large size, and will definitely keep C dry. The English Roses book is absolutely delightful - I love how it is narrated as though the author is sitting in the room with you and casually telling you a story. It conveys a wonderful message of not judging a book by it's cover in an easy, fun way. ("You mean she does it all by herself? asked Grace. "Yes, you ninnies, answered the fairy". One of my favorite lines, directly quoted from Madonna's book). The book is hard back and beautifully illustrated. Together, these make a perfect present for any little girl.
