Andira - Rain Tees Review

I'm Dreaming of a Green Christmas (4)

Andira International was created in 2005 as an import and distribution company by Rain Tees founder and designer, Beth Doane. The word “Andira” describes a tall tree that grows in the Brazilian Amazon and has been been used for centuries by indigenous people for its medicinal properties. However, due to logging and deforestation, the species has been vastly devastated. Rain Tees are a 100% organic luxury line of apparel for women and children designed by youth living in endangered rain forests across Central and South America.

Andira donated school supplies to the children and asked them to illustrate what they see happening in their world every day. Each Rain Tee features their thoughts illustrations and names.

For every Rain tee sold, a child involved in Kids Saving the Rain Forest, Costa Rica will receive a tree they can plant to replace one that has been destroyed.

I had the chance to review the Tree of Life Scoop Neck Tee -A beautiful and profound illustration of a rain forest tree crying leaves that symbolize its tears, and fish that have died and lay floating in water due to rain forest pollution. These shirts are super soft, tailored to fit perfectly, and are made using fair labor practices, eco-conscious production, and contain no animal parts or products. My favorite part of their shirts is that each shirt clearly notes who created the beautiful illustration. The Tree of Life was drawn by eleven year old Mariela of Peru.

Rain Tees can be purchased at the following stores, and will have an online store coming to their site soon.

>> MOXSIE
>> The Green Loop
>> eConscious Market
>> Red Envy Boutique
>> My Earth 360
>> DF Boutique

I received the Tree of Life Tee at no cost to review. The opinion in this post is entirely my own.
