Go Green Lunch Box Review and Giveaway-CLOSED

Dreaming of a Green Christmas #6

In 2008, Go Green Lunch Box was founded simply out of "frustration." Packing two lunches everyday, I was appalled at the amount of waste generated by the packaging of single-serve items (sandwiches, juices, snacks, desserts, etc.). All of that – plastic baggies/wrap/cups, paper cartons/bags, cellophane bags – eventually wound up in our landfills. Upon reading a statistic about a typical American child generating 67 pounds of lunch packaging waste each school year, I knew I had to make some changes. After buying food containers and trying, unsuccessfully, to fit all the containers into the lunch boxes we already owned, resulting in either the lids or containers (or both!) not being brought back home from school, I decided to solve the problem . . . hence, Go Green Lunch Box!
(from Go Green website).

I recently had the chance to review Go Green Lunch Box. I was expecting, well, a lunch box. You know, one of those square squishy things you stuff your lunch in? Well, I received my box today, tore into it, and WOW. I was sent the Houndstooth set to review. This lunch box is a perfect size, and has a gorgeous green trim around the side. Each Go Green Lunch Box set comes with an insulated fabric carrier, a five-compartment food container, and a bottle that will hold over nine ounces of water or your child’s favorite drink – all leach- and lead-free. Turn 'n lock technology ensures your child's lunch stays fresh.

The food container is awesome - I love all the compartments! And the bottle is the perfect size for a child's (or mom's) lunch. This lunch box would also be perfect for those long trips - fill the bottle with some juice, some animal crackers in one compartment, and use the rest for crayons, paper, and some stickers to keep them occupied. This lunch box also has a pocket on the inside front to store silverware, napkins, or anything else you would need at lunchtime, and a dry erase board so you can send notes, encouragement, or reminders. I want to use the Go Green Lunch box for my lunches, the compartments are a great way to control calories - easy portion control; but my daughter has her eye on it, and she runs faster :)

This lunch box is also easy maintenance - the whole top pops off of the food container (it does have retention clips so the top stays with the box and won't get lost at lunch) and is top-rack dishwasher safe (Go Green does recommend removing the lid's five silicone bands and hand washing these due to their light weight)

Buy it!
Go Green Lunch Boxes can be purchased online.

Go Green Lunch Box wants to help make their products available to schools, and are available as fundraisers. Lunch boxes are sold at their normal price of $30.00, and the PTA keeps $5.00 from each sale (postage may also be added depending on your school location). This is an easy way to raise much needed funds, and will help reduce the schools waste.
