Golden Moon Tea - Review & Giveaway - CLOSED

Finest Loose Leaf Tea

Golden Moon Tea was founded in 1993 with the belief that tea is so much more than just a healthy, refreshing, good tasting drink. We believe that, unlike other drinks, tea has a rich history and a total culture that includes serenity, a sense of well being and even a culture of tea preparation. Golden Moon is dedicated to offering outstanding, whole-leaf teas of the greatest quality and finesse. Whole-leaf varietals retain the subtle nuances of flavor so prized by discriminating palates throughout the centuries. All Golden Moon Teas are hand-plucked and meticulously crafted to enhance leaf character, aroma, color, clarity, body, complexity, and above all, flavor. Tea lovers will find no soggy paper tea bags and no trendy herbals from Golden Moon. Only real tea from the Camellia sinensis bush. And, of course, only the finest. A portion of Golden Moon Tea's net profits are contributed to The Lotus 88 Foundation for Women and Children.

One of my favorite guilty pleasures is curling up inside when it's cold outside with a hot cup of tea and a good trashy paranormal. When I stumbled on Golden Moon Tea, I couldn't wait to try it! I will be reviewing their teas for the next 5 months :)

Golden Moon offers a wide variety of loose leaf teas, from classics such as Earl Grey to iced varieties, to flavored teas (they all sound fantastic!). Their site is easy to maneuver - you can shop by Tea Origin, Cuisine, Time of Day, Price Per Cup, Mood or Caffeine. They also offer an assortment of tea pots, kettles, cups, iced tea maker, and other tea-related items, as well as several Tea of the Month Clubs.

This month I tried Tippy Earl Grey. This tea is amazing! Full-bodied, but still smooth, clean flavor. The scent is perfect - rich bergamot, with a subtle hint of lavender and citrus. I added just the smallest sprinkle of sugar to my cup - it really enhances the crispness of this flavor. I've tried a lot of loose leaf teas, and most of them look like the leaves have been ran through a coffee grinder. Golden Moon's leaves are wonderful - not crumbly at all. I didn't have any escapees from the tea ball :)

Buy It
Golden Moon Teas can be purchased online. Shipping is a flat rate of $4.95 (FREE shipping with orders over $74.95). Not sure if you'll like a flavor? Sample sizes (one pot) are available at $0.99 each. You can also purchase a sample set if you want to try multiple flavors.

WIN IT!
Golden Moon Tea is offering one lucky Silver Savings, Freebies and Giveaways reader a tea set! Set includes
A red For Life teapot, a tin of Earl Gray, and a box of tea sacs. Giveaway is open to US Residents and ends 12/7/09. Winner will be selected via random.org and will have 48 hours to respond with shipping information.
