Customizable Footwear

U*neaks patented customizable footwear are sneaker style shoes with side clear panel windows and specially designed socks that allow kids to continuously customize their shoes by simply changing their socks. Pair the shoes with any of U*neaks’ double-sided decorated socks for footwear that’s fun and chock full of personality.

U*neaks brand of customizable footwear was created by Ingenuity Express Corp. in Somerset, NJ. The footwear concept was invented and developed by company founders Steve Braynock and Jeff Gabriele, Ingenuity Express's CEO.

There's two requirements for kids shoes - they have to be cute, and they have to be durable. U*neaks are definitely both! I had the chance to try U*neaks for boys in their Gray Yellow Boomerang style. The Upper is a combination of Light Gray Action Leather, Dark Grey Nubuck and Yellow Color Hits. The Window material is Extra Durable, Environmentally Friendly, Textured TPU. This shoe also has a Custom Cup Insole for Added Support.


I love these shoes! The color combination is fantastic, perfect for any little one on your Christmas list. The shoes are lightweight, so they'll be easy to move in, and are durably stitched. There's also a soft mesh lining inside the shoe, and the sole is very well padded. The clear window on the sides is very sturdy, yet soft. These super cute shoes have a breathable mesh top and a velcro closure. I love how you can customize these by just changing your socks.

U*neaks carries several styles for boys and girls (check out the girls Pearlized Pink Paris Z-Strap!). U*neaks also offers a full line of boys, girls and Madagascar Escape 2 Africa double-sided socks. Socks are available in crew and ankle styles. I had the chance to review several pairs - "Marty" from the Madagascar line, "Racing-Emergency" (crew); "Safari - Cats and Dogs" and "Dinosaurs-Construction Vehicles" (ankle). Their socks are super soft, and medium thick - thick enough to keep toes toasty, but not so thick they'll be tight in the shoes.
