I try to limit my sugar / high fructose corn syrup intake, and try to limit my use of artificial sweeteners as I don't like what they're made of. I've been relying on Stevia for my tea and anything else that needs sweetened, and have heard a lot of positive things about agave nectar - a sweetener derived from the agave plant, a cousin of the American aloe - but have been unable to find it, or products made with it, locally.
I was excited when I found Oogave, the first soda to be sweetened only with 100% certified organic agave nectar-- and not one drop of HFCS. Oogave is available in six flavors, all of which are low glycemic, preservative and gluten free and vegan. Best of all, Oogave contains only four principal ingredients: agave nectar, carbonated water, citric acid, and natural flavors--nothing that cannot be found in nature. My two favorites were Grapefruit - made with real grapefruit extract, and was wonderfully tart and refreshing and Watermelon Cream - a wonderful mix of creaminess and flavors derived from real fruit. I expected it to be too sweet, but it was a rich cream soda taste.
You can fan Oogave on Facebook or follow them on Twitter.
