Sleep No More by Susan Crandall

ISBN# 978-0-446-55684-2
$6.99 US / $8.99 Canada

Synopsis (from book):

The night was always Abby Whitman's enemy. As a young girl she walked in her sleep, and one night, she started a fire that scarred her sister for life and left Abby with unbearable guilt . . . and a loneliness that echoes within her. Now Abby has begun blacking out again-with apparently fatal results. A car accident has killed the son of a prominent family. Even though the evidence seems to exonerate her, Abby is plagued by doubts-and soon by mysterious threats. Psychiatrist Dr. Jason Coble is intrigued by Abby and offers to help her explore the dark recesses of her mind.

Here in Iowa it's cold, snowy and icky out, which is a great excuse to curl up with a good book!

Sleep No More by Susan Crandall was a definite page turner, and kept me guessing right up to the end. Abby sleepwalks, and fears she is cursed, terrified each night when she goes to bed that she will hurt, or worse, someone while sleepwalking, as she has done before by setting a fire that scarred her sister for life. Abby wakes up in her van, a van that is laying on it's side in the swamp, with no memory of how or why she was even out. Crawling out, wading through murky water trying not to think of snakes and gators, she makes her way to the roadside just as the sheriff arrives. He sits her in the car to warm up, and heads to the roadside, when Abby realizes there was another vehicle involved in her accident. Rushing out she discovers the driver didn't survive. Terrified by her lack of memory, she knows she was sleep driving. Strange events unfold from this accident, threatening Abby's life and sanity. The story is beautifully written, weaving well-defined characters through a suspenseful plot line that leaves you guessing until the very end.

Definitely 5 out of 5 stars!
