One of the country's first self-declared "socially responsible" companies, Seventh Generation is a business that operates according to a new and different set of principles and values that in many ways are a marked departure from those long considered "traditional." Its business practice is focused on offering people avenues to express their idealism, passion, and commitment to causes larger than themselves at every point along its supply chain—from suppliers and partners to shareholders, customers and its own staff. (from website)I admit it. I'm a neat freak. I wage daily war on dust bunnies. We don't wear shoes in the house. I do light cleaning daily, and deep cleaning weekly. And sometimes, when I'm spraying cleanser, I wonder just what I am inhaling from the cleaning fumes. When I stumbled on Seventh Generation, I was intrigued, and curious to how well their products would work. I've tried a few "green" cleaning products, and most of them smell a lot better than they work, making them useless. I have had some luck (I found a green floor cleaner that smells like black licorice and makes my floors shine), but being cheap and wanting products that work, I always wind up going back to the chemical laden usuals. I've finally found a green cleaning line that actually works in Seventh Generation :)
Seventh Generation carries a full line of green cleaning, in an array of wonderful fragrances for baby, laundry and home. They also offer a full line of Free and Clear products, for those who don't want added scent. I had the chance to review their Free and Clear Starter kit, which contains:
- Free & Clear Natural Glass & Surface Cleaner
- Free & Clear Natural All Purpose Cleaner
- Free & Clear Natural Dish Liquid
- Free & Clear Natural Laundry Detergent
- Natural Paper Towels
- Reusable Tote
