Glasses USA Review
I've worn eyeglasses since I was 12 years old. I did wear contacts through high school, but went back to wearing glasses after a minor corneal abrasion. My eye was fine, but I had to go six weeks without contacts, and they just never felt comfortable again. Plus, I'd gotten used to how easy and convenient glasses were to wear - no washing and proper storage, just pop them on and clear vision, a necessity as I'm pretty much blind without them :)
Prescription glasses, even single vision lenses like I wear, are expensive. Insurance would cover some of the cost, but I always pay over $100.00 out of pocket, and that was for the cheapest frames I could find.
I always selected plain, basic glasses , as the super cute frames were always three times as much! Glasses USA is the premier online retailer of prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses. I decided to go for something completely different from anything I've worn before for my review pair, and selected Politix by DC's Washington Collection (semi-rimless chic black metal frames with red underneath the metal-based plastic covered arms and stud-detailed temples). I LOVE love love these frames! They're definitely my favorite pair, and I love how I look in them :) The fit is fantastic, and the prescription is perfect. I wore them for a few days, and my vision was crystal clear, but I decided to check the prescription for my review and took them into my local ShopKo - the prescription is perfect! The frames are only $54.95 and basic lenses are included. You can upgrade to thin and light polycarbonate lenses (a definite must for anyone with a strong prescription) for only $40.00 additional, and add anti-scratch, UV protective and an anti-reflecting coating for only $14.85, and total cost would only be $109.80. I paid $227.00 for my last pair, and they weren't nearly as cute, and the quality was definitely less than Glasses USA. My Politix have flexible (spring) arms, and are wonderfully light weight.
I'm definitely impresses by Glasses USA's selection, quality and shipping. They do state orders can take up to 30 days, but my glasses arrived in about ten days, complete with an eyeglasses case and soft cloth (included with each pair of glasses you order).
You can purchase your own pair of glasses on Glasses USA.com and save 5% off your total order by entering coupon code Mommy5.
I received product(s) free to review - the opinion in this post is entirely my own.
